In light of Saber's non-support, I will not be able to use Saber-C on
anything useful UNLESS we modify our AFS kernel code to "be nice" and not
return inodes with high-bits set.

I find this attitude from saber obnoxious; this is a show-stopping bug
for me, and it is certainly not difficult to fix.

We are aware of the fact that Saber-C does not work with files which have
their high bits of their inode numbers set. I am not sure if we will be
fixing it anytime soon. I will keep you informed.
