This does not sound like an acceptable solution; simple for those
responsible for /etc/rc, yes, but acceptable to anyone who wants to
keep crash dumps, no.  Since it is certainly conceivable that I could
get two or three crash dumps between my login sessions, I can only
interpret "wisely" in this case to mean "real small".

Basically, I think what I'm getting out of this is:

4. Rewrite the AFSADJUST code to do the right thing, and replace
   /etc/rc after every update (since this wouldn't work even in
   /etc/rc.local).
