On Linerva, dvips has had the new behavior for a while (in fact, I
often explicitly make sure I'm on Linerva, because I don't want stuff
going to the default printer :-)).
This implies to me that all other sorts of user-visible changes between
Athena and Debian defaults should have been on Linerva for some time now.
In my experience, I'm not aware of any ones that make you very sad; dvips
will do something that is not what you intended but seems safer, for
instance. So this may not be a big issue.
