Hey,
I just reinstalled ubuntu 8.04, and tried to install the athena10
package based on the installation instructions online. It seems the
openafs-modules-generic has an unmet dependency:
::
Installing OpenAFS kernel metapackage
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
openafs-modules-generic: Depends: linux-image-generic (= 2.6.24.19.21)
but 2.6.24.21.23 is to be installed
::
That upgrade (2.6.24.21.23) was a standard upgrade on an 8.04 install,
but now it seems openafs won't install. Is this a bug, or is there some
workaround?
Thanks!
Jerry
