expiring AFS tokens

Back in the good old days when my AFS tokens expired, I got message
saying so:
afs: Tokens for user of AFS id 4914 for cell athena.mit.edu have expired
I do still get this message when I login in the morning, but I no longer
get it when my tokens expire in the afternoon. Instead, I get something
like:
afs: failed to store file in volume 536888898 (error 13)
The old message may not have been an intentional feature, but it was
nice to be warned that strange things were about to start happening.
