I am running an install test now to see if I can duplicate any of this.
In the meantime, please send me some information (in private mail to
avoid flooding the testers list):
* The contents of the following logfiles:
/var/log/dpkg.log
/var/log/apt/term.log
/var/log/aptitude
* Try an Athena login. After the screen turns tan, use ctrl-alt-F1 to
switch to a virtual console, log in with the local account, and send me
the output of "ps auxww".
