Mostly out of ignorance and the VMWare Player defaults. It looks like
vmnet1 is for host-only networking and vmnet8 is for NAT. We don't
particularly want either one.
Unfortunately, the vmware-config script does not appear to have
command-line options to control individual network choices. That leaves
me in a bad situation.
