kernel slower in 7.0?

  Perhaps I am just imagining it, but I am getting the distinct
impression that the 7.0 kernel is doing a lot more context switching,
a lot more slower than 6.4R did.

  It it possible that Ed's cache code changes are causing the
slowdown?
