gaim fails to autologin to jabber on solaris

This was discussed over zephyr but I just realized that no one ever
sent mail.  Since Greg was part of the discussion I'm not sure if a
formal report is required, but figured it couldn't hurt.

gaim properly uses my kerberos credentials when connecting to MIT's
jabber servers when I'm using a linux client, but not when I'm using a
solaris client.  Fore reference, here is the most relevant part of the
zephyr conversation:
