Reply to a message.
Select all the text in the compose window and hit the backspace key (as
one might do if one's default is paste-in the old text, and you don't
want to do that this time.)
Select a short section of text in another compose window (as one might
do when using another message on display as the source of info for a
follow-up.)
IMPORTANT: Do NOT include any newlines in the selection.
Use middle button to paste in the text selected.
Actual behavior:
The original huge block of text is pasted back in, as if the new text
was never selected.
Expected behavior:
Small new chunk of text should have been pasted in.
Work-around:
Select a bigger chunk of text that has a newline in it. The actual
block of text I wanted to select was a greeting:
"Philippe, Sully, Jeff:"
The select and paste-in of that short section from the second compose
window was successful after the work-around kludge.
Someone should check the parsing of the text gathered into the X
selection, I guess.
