Fire up the GNOME control center (under Settings in the foot menu) and,
under Advanced, go to "Preferred Applications". Set the web browser
command to custom, and make the command "firefox %s" instead of
"mozilla-firefox %s".
There's a bug here, which is that the firefox entry in the non-custom
list corresponds to a command which doesn't work on Athena. Why the
GNOME people thought "mozilla-firefox" was the appropriate command, I'm
not sure. (I believe the Athena default is set correctly, but users who
select from the non-custom list should get an appropriate setting.)
