Again today on character.mit.edu, I found three files in my home directory
with the strange listing even though I had unexpired tokens:
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? .addressbook
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? .anyone
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? .k5login
fs flushv . in my home directory again didn't help. These three appear to
share the property of being frequently read. This state lasted for at
least 15 minutes.
What I didn't realize is that pine's behavior when attempting to compose a
message includes an open() call on either my home directory or
.addressbook, so when I went to attempt to compose this message, pine died
with a Segmentation fault. The symptoms thus far are the same as those
from the previous kernel oops, but I haven't had a chance to reboot the
machine and examine /var/log/messages yet.
