Hi,

A user reports a problem using the Acrobat 7.0 browser plugin. He used to
have an nppdf.so link in his ~/.mozilla/plugins directory to the location in
the acro_v5.0.10 locker where this library is located that made mozilla use
the plugin when reading pdf files.

He now reports that when he uses the equivalent link (after adjustment
for a slight path change we made in going to acro_v7.0) this no longer
works; his link is now:

~/.mozilla/plugins/nppdf.so -> /afs/athena.mit.edu/software/acro/current.@sys/distrib/@sys/Browser/@sys/nppdf.so

and Mozilla just opens a blank window when going to a pdf URL; I can
verify this, but also note that when I put the locker launch script
earlier in the path than /usr/athena/bin/acroread, the problem goes
away, i.e. doing "add -f acro" on the command-line before launching
mozilla fixes it. I can't think of any obvious change in acroread 7 that
would cause this- can /usr/athena/bin/acroread be modified to get
around this? The odd thing is that /usr/athena/bin/acroread does launch
acroread 7, though somewhat slowly.

                                      Thanks,

                                               Alex
