outgoing mail stuck in queue

As I mentioned in my previous message, mail that I attempted to send to
testers got stuck in the mail queue on my machine.  This doesn't seem to
be an outgoing.mit.edu problem, since my mail goes through fine on the
Solaris 9.3 machine I am sending this from.  (I would test from a
Linux-Athena 9.4 machine, but I'm having an ssh problem that I will report
separately in a moment.)

I used pine to compose my message, and send it normally.  After noticing
that it got stuck in the queue, I also tried to send myself a test
message, again using pine.

At the suggestion of -c help, I also added "export DIRECT_DELIVERY=1"
before running "sendmail -q -v" but got the same results.
