Looks like I'm 2 for 2- an attempt to update central.mit.edu (Sun) to
9.4 failed:
The final screen of printout shows:
loading AFS kernel extensions
/usr/vice/etc/afsd does not exist. Not starting AFS client.
Updating cell location information
cp: cannot access /afs/athena.mit.edu/service/CellServDB
updating setuid cell information
cp: cannot access /afs/athena.mit.edu/service/SuidCells
...
Cannot finish partially completed update.

A very lengthy /var/athena/update.log is generated; the last few lines show:
..
Installation of <MIT-machtype> was successful.
Finished installing Athena core packages.
Create devices and dev
Prior to that everything looks normal, as far as I can tell, including
a few lines prior:
Installation of <MIT-openafs> was succcessful.
I can't easily supply more contents because the machine is in a state
where I can't access it remotely or send mail from it.
