The Athena 9.4 alpha release for Solaris will begin shortly. It began
for Linux on April 2.
Alpha release are not guaranteed to be safe for your machine. Make
sure to back up any important data before taking an alpha release.
The highlights of this release are:
* RHEL 4
* Solaris 10
* GNOME 2.8
* Evolution 2.0
* Metacity as the default window manager
Known issues:
* On Linux, errors about accessing the midi and sequencer devices
are displayed in the console at login time.
* Evolution 2.0 doesn't have all of our local mods. (It has enough
to be functional, though.)
* On Solaris, cyrus-sasl can't find the Kerberos libraries, so
"from" and "mailquota" can't authenticate to the PO servers.
* Sometimes gnome-panel crashes on logout, and puts up a window on
the subsequent xlogin screen's display.
Please send bug reports to testers.
