When I telnet to an Athena 9.3 Sun (from an Athena 9.2 Sun) and run
"gnome-terminal &" on the remote machine, I get:

GLib: Cannot convert message: Conversion from character set 'UTF-8' to '646' is not supported

** (gnome-terminal:4231): WARNING **: Unable to convert characters from 646 to UCS-4.

** (gnome-terminal:4231): WARNING **: Unable to convert characters from UCS-4 to 646.

** (gnome-terminal:4231): WARNING **: Unable to convert characters from UTF-8 to 646.

after which the expected gnome-terminal window opens. I don't get these
messages when I telnet to a 9.3 Linux machine.

                                        Alex
