My two cents worth:
On the one hand it would be good if the update were graceful.
So maybe we should craft an appropriate fix.
On the other hand, the affected systems are all multi-partition Suns
that might benefit from a re-install.
If this is a difficult fix to craft, then maybe we should consider
planning to do site visits for it, to either hand update, or re-install.
