The default was the esound plugin, as usual, but that didn't work.
I tried everything else but the Disk Writer plugin, which would clearly be
wrong.  Besides, the output plugin should have no bearing on whether a
song appears in the playlist when you attempt to load the file. One
example: running xmms with a path to an mp3 as argument results in xmms
coming up, and popping up a select-a-file-dialog window.
