Okay, pcre did the job. I believe I have fixed the problem on the
system packs, and am also hopeful that the fix will survive the system
packs rebuild I intend to perform soon for 9.2.3. If you want to try
out the hand-tooled fix before 9.2.3, you can run:
/srvd/usr/athena/lib/update/track-srvd
as root on the Solaris machine, and it should pick up the new
gnome-terminal and associated libraries.
(I also found a bug report about this in GNOME bugzilla, and appended
a bunch of information to it with my findings.
