My recollection is that if SASL has any trouble at all loading the
Kerberos plugin, it just silently fails to offer Kerberos. (For
instance, if build into a prefix and don't configure with a
--with-plugindir corresponding to the prefix; but we already take care
of that particular issue.) So I always had to go straight to running
imtest under gdb to figure out what the problem was.
