I'm trying to run a gnumeric binary which I've built from source (on
Linux and Sun). The binary builds OK, but on launch I get a gnome
error dialog about a fontmap2 file missing, which it thinks belongs in
/usr/athena/share/fonts, and it won't launch.
My laptop running straight RedHat 7.2 has this file (in /etc/gnome/fonts),
but it doesn't appear to come from an rpm so it probably got built
by something.
So I have two related questions-
1. Is this something applications expect to find, so the problem might come
up elesewhere?
2. Is there a way to get it in the release and is it advisable to do this?
gnumeric would be nice to have but is not that important that it's
worth going to any significant effort to make it work.
Thanks,
Alex
