Thanks for reporting this; the problem was a result of you having
INFOPATH set in your environment (it can be set by add) which was
overriding the Info-default-directory list; we have a local modification
to info.el to append INFOPATH to the default directory list, which
wasn't reflected in info.elc. A rebuilt info.elc should appear the next
time alpha software is updated.
