What were you trying to do?
Run /usr/athena/xps instead of /mit/sipb/rtbin/xps, since the
former is supposed to be "new and improved."
What's wrong:
It's not. It's much slower than the one in sipb, and the
fonts are much uglier. Not only that, but spaces are printing
with a couple pixels in them instead of just as spaces.
The file in question is ~jik/ps/bayit.ps.
What should have happened:
Either /usr/athena/xps really should be better, or the one in
the release should be the same as the one in the SIPB locker.
