This came over the nautilus list.  I'm not sure if applies to the 9.0
environment since I've always seen an esd (sometimes leftover from previous
sessions) on my solaris machine, but just FYI.. lack of esd apparently
makes a lot of things slow as they wait and timeout.

I ran into this too...its a really nasty bug.
