After unlocking my screen from xss, I found the following message
in my console window:
23:02 webcollage: 23:02:27: ppmmake not found on $PATH.
and that error seems to be easy to reproduce by running "webcollage
-root". I've already removed my ~/.xscreensaver file from 8.4, so
this seems to be independent of my configuration.
