Hi folks,
I'm having problems with the $WINDOW_MANAGER enviroment variable- on
9.0/gnome for both Sun and SGI (haven't checked Linux). In the initial
gnometerm that opens on login, $WINDOW_MANAGER is defined
(correctly). Opening up another by clicking on the Prompt box at the
bottom gives one in which $WINDOW_MANAGER is undefined.
I see the same behavior on 8.4 SGIs if I go to a reopened xterm that doesn't
happen to be the initial login xterm, or if I open a new one with
Desktop -> Open Unix Shell: in such windows $WINDOW_MANAGER is undefined.
If this is in the "it's not a bug, it's a feature" category, I'm not
happy... (I need to have a launch script that can detect what window
manager a user is running, and tell them to change it if it's the
wrong one).
