Hi. Logging into an athena9 machine for the first time with an
over-quota homedir can confuse the new window manager so much that it's
hard even to log back out again. Gnome expects to be able to generate
~/.gnome* directories, and if it can't, not even an xterm is initialized
on login, and the root-window menus seem to be non-functional. Below
are the error messages that appeared in the console when I duplicated
the problem by flooding my homedir and removing my .gnome* directories.
