The machine cutter-john is running Athena version 8.4.2001040304.
The windowmanger is in a state of low usefulness, because something called
libxalflaunch is having troubles. If I try to use the Foot Menu to
launch programs (like Matlab), or to start the gnome properties control
panel, I get an error message:
/bin/sh: error in loading shared libraries: libxalflaunch.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
xalf: timeout launching /bin/sh
I can launch things like gnome-panel-properties-capplet by hand, but
when I navigate around its subpanels (looking for the part that will
turn off auto-raise windows), I get the same libxalflaunch error.
I have no idea what's going on, but if you didn't know about it before,
now you do.
