Sure enough, the afs script in the most recent RPM in afs has this;
the afs script on my machine doesn't though. It looks like it failed to
update the afs rpm when it took the update.
You should be in root's .k5login on the machine (frank-n-furter) if
it would be helpful to you to poke around.
