I noticed today that all the 8.4 Suns I was able to look at were
running sendmail daemons. /etc/rc2.d/S88sendmail exists on all of them,
installed by the Sun package SUNWsndmr. Under the old world order, we
used to except the S88sendmail link from being tracked onto disk in the
subscription list, but we can't do that anymore. I guess we could just
remove the link during install, but it would be nice to have a more
general procedure for what to do if a Sun package installs a file we
don't want.
