Right, so I read my mail in emacs mh mode. (started with M-x mh-rmail)
It's worked fine for the last couple years. I don't think I'm doing
anything really weird.

the last couple days I've been testing stuff on a beta machine, so
I've commented out bits of .mh_profile (all the alias bits) I don't
think there was an odd interaction, but I thought I'd cc testers jic.

today, I inc'ed my mail. it was normal. Then I ran babyl2mh, to
convert an rmail file I had, it seemed okay. I inc'ed again, got some
more mail. did stuff, and inc'ed again. This time, I noticed that
emacs numbered the messages 1 and 2, figuring it was just an odd
numbering error, I moved them to the correct place (312, and 313) then
I packed, and noticed my entire Mail directory had been rm'ed. I'm not
sure how, or why, but it was gone.

fs lq listed a quota consistent with it being gone, so I don't think
it was afs cache corruption. OldFiles had almost everything, so I'm
not completely scrod, but it's rather worrisome...
