arrg. having just written and tried to mail an identical bug report,
only to find that my alias file was back in place to test one last
thing...
anyhow, the ali commands appears to list my aliases correctly, while
the repl and comp ones fail with that error. This implies that the
syntax of .mh_profile is correct.
and for whatever it's worth, the existance of Mail/aliases seems to
matter much less than those .mh_profile lines.
