The error message is a bug and I submitted a patch for it. The fact
that your machine was in that state (that it didn't have a /mit so
attach had to create it) is another bug, although with the patch to
not keep printing that error message it's not really a noticeable bug,
so whatever.
If the Irix install doesn't create a /mit, it probably should, but we
don't need to fix it on existing machines really.
