At 12:01 am, Irix runs a program called chkutent, which removes you
from utmp if you happen to be logged in (at least, if you're telnetted
in). I've been meaning to debug this, but I haven't been logged in at
midnight in the last few days.
Also, one day I typed "logout", and end_session spewed an error
message at me about being unable to kill the session. I didn't get a
good look at it the message though, because I was then logged out. I
haven't seen this since. I think this happened on a day that Greg
updated the packs while I was logged in, which might have something to
do with it.
