I released a new build of the system packs. Let me know if anything
new breaks besides your emacs dumping core suddenly just before you
were about to save your files and leave work. (I'll special-case
at least emacs next time, if I remember.)
Some known bugs which are fixed:
* named can handle class hs lookups now. This involves files
on the local disk, so you'll have to force your machine to
retake the update or copy in /srvd/etc/named.*.
* A couple of config files didn't get updated right on IRIX;
they should get updated right if you retake the update now.
* access_on won't complain about not finding sshd.pid.
* nmh shouldn't put the hostname in the from address any more.
* The athinfo client was missing.
* attach seg faulted with no arguments, and in some cases when
run without the -h option. You'll need a new version of
attach on local disk to fix this, of course.
* vc-hooks.el doesn't have CVS merge grot in it.
Also, ftpd should be able to handle forwarded tickets now. You'll
need an updated /etc/athena/inetd.conf to take advance of this (ftpd
-C instead of ftpd -a off).
Some known bugs which have fixes but which aren't fixed in this build:
* tex can't find itself.
* Our sendmail isn't installed
* intlfonts aren't installed.
* perl doesn't run on the indy
* xss-command can't find xss-demo
There's also a problem with "man" under IRIX (yay, IRIX) where it
won't read your input in character mode; I think we know how to fix
that but haven't gotten to the stage of someone submitting a patch.
And some known bugs we haven't made fixes for yet:
* That X error when you try to log in under IRIX.
* On IRIX, tcsh sometimes complains about setpgid in a
pipeline.
* tcsh ~foo expansion doesn't work.
* Console app-defaults are missing. Since they live on local
disk, you probably haven't noticed, since your machine had
it before the update and it didn't go away.
(Which reminds me... I forgot to put snmpd into DEADFILES
and check for other things which should go there.)
* emacs M-x info looks at your INFOPATH and doesn't have any
default info directories in thre.
