Yes it is; if Tk send were working, you would not see the errors.

I'm getting confused, though.  I'm pretty sure that I turned off
the customization options which would cause these errors to
happen.  The only instance I know of in which they would appear
is if your exmh preferences have the bgAsync variable set.  (In
the preferences dialog box, this is under "Background Processing":
if the entry "Separate background process" is On, you'll see
those errors.  Turning the setting Off is safe.)

Do you happen to have the asynchronous background processing
set to "On"?
