I just took the new release (8.2) on my Sparc5. A few problems:
1. During the update I got:
ld.so.1 /usr/bin/sh fatal relocation error. file /usr/bin/sh: symbol
textdomain: referenced symbol not found.
2. My startup checks the hostname to determine whether to launch applications.
Apparently it changes from rar to rar.mit.edu. That is OK, just make sure
people know this before they install.
3. I use exmh. A couple of problems:
a. I can not inc my mail! I get "No mail to incorporate" whether I use
exmh,
xmh, or just mh (inc). I do maintain my files on my workstation rather than
AFS if that makes a difference.
b. My backspace does not work. I get "". There is some binding that
needs changing that has been changed. Do you know what it is? The binding
for backspace is <Delete>.
c. Something is wrong in exmh in that I get messages like:
BgRegister X server insecure (must use xauth-style authorization); command
ignored
BgRegister X server insecure (must use xauth-style authorization); command
ignored
exmh-bg cannot rendez-vous with UI - exiting.
Usually this is because Tk send is not working.
