As the system release notes say:
A change in the Athena 8.2 release is that the ``ksu'' program
will not work with a .klogin file; you must convert to a
.k5login file (converting krb4 principals to krb5 principals
as noted above).
Modifying ksu to work with .klogin files would have been a great deal
of work.

Certainly, the krb5 migration has been the most painful non-operating
system migration we've done.
