So, I just upped special-forces (an indy) to 8.2 the other day, and
add stopped working. Add now references a graphics addition
utility in /os/usr/sbin, which seems wrong. (It seems to
want the usage "add inimage1 inimage2 outimage" instead of
"add lockername".) I figured I'd get around this by just
hardcoding the add alias into my dotfiles, so I looked it up on an O2
and a Sun, both of which said
Vice-Grips[10:49am][1]~=>where add
add is aliased to set add_opts = (!:*); source $initdir/add
Then I checked to see if this was there:
Vice-Grips[10:52am][4]~=>echo $initdir; ls -l $initdir/add
/usr/athena/lib/init
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 8809 May 12 1997 /usr/athena/lib/init/add
But when I checked on special-forces:
special-forces[10:53am][23]/os/usr/sbin=>echo $initdir; ls -l $initdir/add
initdir: Undefined variable.
Additionally, /usr/athena/lib/init/add didn't exist either. I'm not
particularly sure if it's a bug or a feature, but if it's a feature
I don't know the workaround.
I also couldn't find perl. I use /afs/athena/contrib/perl/p, and
sgi_62 doesn't exist yet in /afs/athena/contrib/perl/arch. Oops.
Do you guys have the appropriate bits to frob that?
