What were you trying to do?
re-take the 8.2.0 update since a bunch of things have changed*
What went wrong?
Several things:
/os is mode 777 and these permissions were tracked onto /
(This did not occur the first time I took 8.2.0 on 5/7/1998
I noticed teh following as weird, although it isn't necessarily wrong:
speaker-for-the-dead:/var/local/update: ls -l /etc/athena/ssh*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 5 May 26 21:07 /etc/athena/sshd -> sshd1
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root other 1065924 May 17 09:58 /etc/athena/sshd1
mkserv didn't run:
***** Finishing update after reboot
Updating version
Running mkserv.
mkserv: Can't resolve name
I believe this is because it started the wrong named, because the
patch from source-reviewers 2287 has not been applied to the packs,
yet other named patches have.
Yo, got any documentation, or other info?
* I did this by changing the version in the last line of
/etc/athena/version to 8.2.-1, and running /srvd/update_ws.
