I have finished testing this patch and I have installed it.  The patch
is not designed to be 100% perfect.  However, it should allow the root
symlinks to be updated currectly for many more files.  The reason I
did not make it perfect is that that would have required hardcoding
some very specific things into the mkserv binary, which I didn't want
to do.
