We've also had a problem with named dying silentl, rendering a
workstation useless until it's manually restarted. We have a named
patch from Sun, which will hopefully help (we're being a bit slow
applying Sun patches because we're trying to find a clean way of
applying patches to a copy of the operating system in AFS; it isn't
very pretty).
