There is a newer version of the nameserver available now. This one
will no longer log "no SOA record" errors and fixes a problem where
the hesiod servers can disappear. If you installed the test named
before Thursday Oct 12 (look at the modtime on /etc/named if you don't
remember), then you should take this later version.
To install the test version of named on your vax, rt, or decmips (note
that this script will log your update by sending email):
1. activate the workstation (you can do this while you are logged in)
2. become root
3. run the script /afs/testers/src/named/installnamed
That's all there is to it. This will continue to use anything you may
have in /etc/named.local, but will replace the other named files.
If for some reason you want to back out of these changes, the script
/afs/testers/src/named/uninstallnamed will install the 6.3B release
version.
