Solaris 7.7: /etc/athena/rc.conf

daemon@ATHENA.MIT.EDU (cfields@MIT.EDU)
Tue Jul 5 15:03:09 1994

From: cfields@MIT.EDU
Date: Tue, 5 Jul 1994 15:02:26 +0500
To: testers@MIT.EDU

The HOST and ADDR variables are now actually set in the script.
However, "HOST" is set, while "host" is exported.

/srvd/etc/athena/rc.conf also says "HOST=MITHOST.MIT.EDU" while
the value filled in will not have a .MIT.EDU extension.

The DECstation has "HOST=NONAME" and "ADDR=NOADDR," as well as
consistently capitalized comments next to these variable assignments.
Is there some reason we cannot be consistent between platforms, and
when doing things with newer platforms not consult how things were
done on older platforms?
