System name: the-other-woman
Type and version:	SPARC/Classic 7.7C (1 update(s) to same version)
Display type: cgthree

What were you trying to do?
finger at tow while I was logged into it remotely.

What's wrong:
It would appear that eklogind, or something puts garbage in
	the tty field in utmp.

the-other-woman:~: f @tow
[THE-OTHER-WOMAN.MIT.EDU]
finger: Can't stat /dev/ <----------
Machine type is sun4
Load information:
 11:06pm up 1 day(s), 7:32, 1 user, load average: 0.07, 0.04, 0.04

the-other-woman:~: finger

Local:
Login Name TTY Idle When Office
jweiss Jonathon Weiss * - Wed 19:00 E40-347 253-0253
                                                       ^^^^

The tty looks like a y with an umlaut in my xterm.

What should have happened:
something like p0 should have been in utmp.
the-other-woman:~: echo $tty
pts/0
