In the new version of emacs (this was off rt AFS packs sometime
last week), it is possible to lose ALL your mail if you get mail using
rmail in the middle of your tickets expiring. By ALL I mean, no RMAIL,
RMAIL~, RMAIL#, etc. files remained. The only message I saw was
something about 'can't rename ....'. I haven't tried reproducing this
problem but I suspect the problem is in all versions of emacs & is due
to different AFS semantics. Could someone (rob perhaps?) look into
this? In any case, people using rmail & AFS homedirs should be warned
to never get mail while their tickets are near expiration.
