I'm not sure what to call whatever is constipating my printer whenver it
takes input via the serial port from my workstation. All I know is that
it worked (flawlessly) prior to 7.6, and hasn't worked since. A batch
of folks have looked at it (Kim, Darrin, Ezra, Peter), but no
definitive diagnosis so far, and no solution:
[6:02pm] [~] arimathea% setenv PRINTER trillium
[6:15pm] [~] arimathea% printenv PRINTER
trillium
[6:15pm] [~] arimathea% lpq
Printer Error: may need attention! (Not Responding for 557 minutes)
Rank Owner Job Files Total Size
active plee 1 wedge.ps 512 bytes
It could conceivably be a printer problem (occuring coincidentally with
the staff-test deployment of 7.6), though I swapped in another printer
and had the same problem. It could be a cable failure, but we seem to
be able to get to the printer (albeit not completely successfully) via
kermit.
I'm stumped. Any more thoughts?
Jeff

Jeff,
Did someone say it was a print server problem? I'm not
sure it's been identified as such here. You may want to
check into this (bugs?)
