Not getting ATHENA.MIT.EDU tokens

Software: Relase 7.4G
Problem: when I log in, machine does not get any tokens for the athena
cell, and therefore does not read my dotfiles. If I either aklog or fsid
-cell athena, logout and log back in, the tokens survive between the
login sessions and my login then proceeds as normal (dotfiles).
This has happened a number of times in the last few days, and I have
never encountered this problem before.
