GETTING STARTED
- Workstation updated just fine.
- Floating message ok.
- Dot files work fine.
- Part of my previous mkserv customizations got hosed: in /etc/rc.conf,
NOREMOTE=true got reset to false, and my /etc/noremote file
disappeared. Net result was that anybody could log in remotely until
I fixed rc.conf and recreated noremote (thanks Carla!!!).
COMMAND CHANGES
- Changed attach to add in .environment w/no problems, though I was used
to seeing the verbose feedback as the disks were attached. quota -v -a
reports that they did in fact attach properly.
- Quota command is nice!
COLOR AND GRAYSCALE
- Dash came up in color, as did logout button. I didn't like the default
color as much as I like the default motif color scheme, xcal color, etc.
- Xlogin logos in red -- NICE!
MKSERV
- See above notes re rc.conf and noremote files getting changed/hosed.
Once they were fixed/replaced, remote access restriction worked fine.
XLOGIN
- Username fills in fine, though under the first letter, looks like there's
an insertion caret (^) kind of stuck there. The _real_ insertion caret
appears after the last letter and works fine.
